Here's one of my creations. I used Big Huge Labs to create a motivational poster of some flowers that my current school librarian (and friend) gave me when she found out that I had joined this cohort. They were so colorful and happy little daisies.

I could definitely see my students using this site, especially this activity to report on an animal. We always do some sort of animal research project. This would be a really cool way to show some knowledge, use those adjectives I've been teaching, and really having kids make some choice about the words they use. When you have only three lines of text to get your point across, every word counts!
ReplyDeleteI also really liked the Movie Star Poster Maker. I thought the kids would be able to use it when we research famous Americans. Our current "celebrities" include: George Washington Carver (my fave), Benjamin Franklin, Eleanor Roosevelt, George Washington, & Abraham Lincoln. This year, we also added the kindergarten people: Betsy Ross, Martin Luther King, Jr., Pocahontas, & Powhatan. These would be so cool printed out and posted in the school, maybe in the library.
You must be teaching 1st grade. My daughter was telling me all about Eleanor Roosevelt at dinner!
ReplyDeleteMy school librarians are happy that I joined the cohort, too. Unfortunately, the HS library isn't as helpful when it comes to the Children's Lit course!
I think we all had a great time with this motivational poster site. How cool to have it look so professional, so easily.
